Welcome to the virtual world of 7th Bramshill
Hook Scout Group is a member of the Scout Association and is governed by their rules and regulations.
Hook Scout Group is reliant on Adults and Young People working together, learning, sharing and having fun.
We are a charitable organisation and responsible for our own fundraising and all adults give their time freely and receive no kind of payment We need the help of adults as Leaders, fund raisers, decorators, solicitors, accountants and many more professions.
We are sure that any skill that someone has is useful to us - it might only be an hour a week, month or even a year.
Where necessary, all training, uniform and out-of-pocket expenses are provided. All adults are subjected to CRB checks prior to them having any contact with any youth members of the Scout Group.
This is the chance to help the young; have a good time; and an annual 100% pay rise!
Hook Scout Group was formed in 1910 and was then known as Newnham and Hook Scout Group and is one of the oldest Groups in the county of Hampshire. Records are a bit sketchy as to exactly when the Group was first registered as all Groups where registered at District level and no early records can be found locally.
The current Group has had continuity since 1959 when our Life President W. Lloyd Hill became the Cub Master, Lloyd was in charge of the Group until 1996 when he retired . Lloyd saw many different venues being used as meeting places and many of them where burnt to the ground in the 1960’s and for a while the Group meet in Newnham village hall, until a space was available in the Elizabeth Hall, 23 years ago Hook Scout Group built it’s own HQ in the grounds of the Elizabeth Hall.
Hook Scout Group has been able to offer all section’s of the Scout Association movement and currently has two Beaver Scout Colonies, Cub Scout Pack and a Scout Troop. A District Explorer Unit also meets at the Head Quarters.
